Small Interest Groups are small groups with special interests to members of the Swedish Club. A member of the Swedish Club may join any such group.

Swedish Craft Group: 2018

The Craft Group meets frequently. .

Swedish Cooking Group: Spring - Winter 2018.

Drum roll please!

The Swedish Cooking Group has a wonderful event planned. ·Native Swede Kerstin VanGilder will lead us in preparing a special lunch.

Wednesday, October 10
9:30 AM - approximately 2 PM
330 S Summit Street
Parking will be in her driveway or on E Court Street

Instead of a food cost Kerstin suggests a donation to the Free Lunch Program. ·Participants will receive information on how to donate.

This event will be limited to 8 group members. ·But if there are significantly more than 8 who wish to attend then Kerstin is happy to consider a possible second session.

Registration will be first come first serve with registration beginning September 1.
And the registration deadline is September 10.

Thanks goes to Birgit Coffman for coordinating this event.

It will be a time of instruction, fun company, and of course, good eating.

SCANDIHOOVIAN MEAL

Let’s beat those winter blahs. We have been invited to attend the 2nd annual Scandihoovian Dinner at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. The dinner this past January was such a huge success that they are talking “annual event.” Please invite your spouse/friend. The date has not been determined, but we can look forward to January 2019.

Scandinavian Film: 2018

The site for showing films has been moved to the Environmental Education Center, East Side Recycling Center, Iowa City.

The next scheduled film will be "A Man Called Ove". Directed by Hannes Holm.

The film is from the book of the same name by Fredrik Backman.
